The Balochistan Public Sector Development Program is playing an important role in improving governance, infrastructure, and employment opportunities in the province. Recently, a high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sarfaraz Bugti, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, to evaluate the progress of different development projects.

During the meeting, several key initiatives were discussed, including employment opportunities for youth, expansion of internet connectivity, improvement in municipal services, and the establishment of complaint cells to resolve public issues. The government also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, efficiency, and timely completion of development projects so that people can benefit from them as soon as possible.

High-Level Review Meeting on the Balochistan Public Sector Development Program

The review meeting mainly focused on monitoring the progress of projects under the Balochistan Public Sector Development Program. Government officials provided detailed updates about ongoing initiatives related to education, infrastructure, employment, and public services.

Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti emphasized that all departments must speed up reform measures to improve governance and service delivery. He also stated that development projects should be completed on time so that the public can quickly receive their benefits.

Employment Opportunities for Youth

One of the most important highlights of the Balochistan Public Sector Development Program is the plan to create employment opportunities for young people. The government will start training programs under the Enterprises Development Program to help youth gain practical skills and professional experience.

Through this initiative, around 60,000 young people will be connected to employment opportunities. These programs aim to strengthen the economic stability of the province and empower the youth of Balochistan by providing them with better career opportunities.

By focusing on skill development and entrepreneurship, the government hopes to reduce unemployment and support the long-term economic growth of the province.

Establishment of Public Complaint Cells

To improve communication between the government and citizens, complaint cells will be established from the tehsil level to the provincial level. These centers will allow people to submit their complaints and receive timely solutions.

The purpose of these complaint cells is to ensure that public concerns are heard and addressed quickly. This step will improve accountability and make the government more accessible to the people.

This initiative is expected to strengthen trust between citizens and the administration while improving the efficiency of public services.

Expansion of Fiber Optic Internet in Educational Institutions

Another important initiative under the Balochistan Public Sector Development Program is the expansion of fiber optic internet across educational institutions.

Currently, a project is underway to provide fiber optic internet to 1,100 educational institutions across the province. According to officials, this project is progressing quickly and is expected to be completed within six months.

In the next phase, the government plans to expand the fiber optic network to schools, hospitals, and government offices. This step will improve digital connectivity and support modern education and administrative systems.

Education Sector Improvements

Education remains a major priority of the Balochistan Public Sector Development Program. Many schools in the province currently operate with limited facilities, including single-room buildings.

To address this issue, the government has developed a plan to construct two additional classrooms in 4,000 single-room schools. This project will help improve the learning environment for students and teachers.

In addition, the government has made significant progress in increasing school enrollment. During the past year, 100,000 out-of-school children have been admitted to educational institutions, which is an important step toward improving literacy in the province.

Clean Drinking Water Projects

Access to clean drinking water is a serious challenge in many areas of Balochistan. Under the Balochistan Public Sector Development Program, the government has accelerated projects aimed at providing clean drinking water in all union councils.

These projects are essential for improving public health and ensuring that communities have access to safe and reliable water supplies.

Improvement of Municipal Services

To strengthen municipal services, the government has decided to provide modern machinery to 95 municipal committees across the province.

This equipment will help improve waste management, sanitation, and other municipal operations. The machinery is expected to be delivered by June 30, which will significantly improve the performance of local governments.

Law Enforcement and Anti-Drug Measures

During the meeting, officials also discussed measures against illegal activities in the province. The government has intensified operations to eliminate illegal poppy cultivation.

Authorities are taking strict action against individuals involved in such activities to maintain law and order and encourage legal agricultural practices.

Development of Transport and Administrative Infrastructure

The Chief Minister expressed concern over delays in the People’s Train Service project and directed officials to release funds quickly and complete the project as soon as possible.

The aim of this project is to provide modern and safe travel facilities to the people of Balochistan.

In addition, the government has ordered the early completion of prefabricated offices and accommodation facilities for administrative officers in remote areas and newly created districts. These facilities will help improve administrative performance in distant regions.

Government’s Commitment to Transparency and Good Governance

Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti stated that there will be no compromise on transparency, speed, and quality in development projects.

He emphasized that public welfare and the provision of basic facilities remain the top priorities of the government. All departments have been directed to ensure the timely completion of development projects so that citizens can benefit from these initiatives without delay.

The Balochistan Public Sector Development Program reflects the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing public services throughout the province.
