Phase 2 Formally Launched on 18 October 2026

The PM Laptop Scheme has entered Phase 2. On 18 October 2026, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz formally launched the second phase of the laptop and scholarship schemes, as announced by Information Minister Azma Bokhari. The young generation is a valuable asset to any country, and Pakistan — where most of the population consists of youth — runs this scheme so that talented students who cannot afford a laptop can still receive one on merit and continue their education with modern digital tools.

The government of Pakistan first started the laptop scheme in 2013. Since then, it has allocated funds of crores of rupees to distribute laptops to deserving students across the country. As a result, each phase has expanded the scheme so that more students can benefit and gain access to modern education.

Due to rising prices, buying a new laptop has become a dream for many students. However, through this scheme, meritorious students can receive a laptop, which helps them continue their studies and build digital skills for the future.

With Phase 2 now formally launched, eligible students can apply through the official portal. The department checks each application against the eligibility criteria and awards laptops on merit to deserving students.
