Why This Scheme Matters
CM Bugti described the initiative as a milestone for Balochistan’s future, saying the journey of the province’s youth toward the world’s top universities has officially begun. The scheme builds on the foreign doctorate scholarship commitment first made under the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program in 2024, and is now operational through BEEF with a concrete yearly quota of ten scholars.
For students from Balochistan — where access to international research opportunities has historically been limited — a fully funded route into the world’s top-100 universities is a significant opportunity, particularly with 70% of seats reserved for STEM subjects.
