Hajj 2027 Applications Open Complete Guide to Packages, Dues & Registration

Hajj 2027 Applications Open

If you have been eagerly awaiting your Hajj journey and have been waiting for a while, the wait is finally over. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has officially started the application process for Hajj 2027.

It is a first-come, first-served basis as the entire system has gone online this year, meaning you should register yourself as soon as possible. The better your chances of getting a seat before the quota is filled, the easier it is to follow.

Here is a complete guide to the packages, cost, closing date and everything you need to know before applying.

How the Hajj 2027 process works

Unlike previous years, this cycle is being run almost entirely online, i.e. through a digital system. Pilgrims, whether applying through the government application scheme or through a private operator, will have to complete their registration on the Pak Hajj mobile app or the official web portal. Paper applications are now largely rejected, so having your documents and payment method completely digital saves you a lot of hassle.

Since seats are very limited and the system will be on a first-come, first-served basis, if you are slow or late in applying, your application will be rejected once the quota is exhausted.

Government Hajj Package Prices for 2027

The Ministry has announced two package durations under the government scheme this year:

Package TypeDurationCost
Long PackageApprox. 38–42 daysRs. 12,00,000
Short PackageApprox. 20–25 daysRs. 13,00,000

It’s worth noting that the short package, despite the shorter stay, actually costs more than the long one, likely due to accommodation and logistics arrangements during peak days in Makkah. Pilgrims should factor this into their budgeting before choosing a package.

Optional Room Upgrades in Makkah Mukarramah

For those who want a bit more privacy and comfort during their stay, the Ministry is also offering separate room facilities, though this option applies only to accommodation in Makkah Mukarramah:

Room TypeExtra Cost (Per Person)
Two-bed separate roomRs. 2,10,000
Three-bed separate roomRs. 70,000

These upgrades are optional and added on top of the base package cost, so pilgrims travelling with family or in small groups may find the three-bed option a more budget-friendly middle ground.

Payment Schedule: When Are the Dues Due?

Hajj dues are being collected in two installments this year:

  • First installment (50% of the selected package cost): Collection begins August 18, 2026
  • Second installment: Due in the first week of October

Missing these windows could affect your booking, so it’s a good idea to mark these dates and arrange your payment method well in advance.

Applying Through the Private Hajj Scheme

Pilgrims who prefer to go through a private operator have their own dedicated route this year. Applications under the Private Hajj Scheme are processed through the Pak Aazmin Hajj App, where applicants can choose from any of the 25 authorized private Hajj companies along with their preferred organization and quota.

One important point the Ministry has stressed: all payments must go through the Pak Hajj App or the official Hajj portal only. Any payment made outside these official channels will not be recognized, and the Ministry has made clear it holds no responsibility for transactions made through unofficial means.

How to Pay Your Hajj Dues

Payments for both government and private schemes can only be made through the officially developed digital system, which offers a few flexible options:

  1. Online transfer using your bank account details, PSID, or debit/credit card
  2. Bank challan — generate it through the app, take a printout, and deposit it at your nearest Habib Bank Limited (HBL) branch

HBL has been formally appointed as the Ministry’s authorized banking partner for this cycle, handling both the application process and dues collection on the Ministry’s behalf.

Eligibility and Registration Requirements

Before you start the process, keep these conditions in mind:

  • Registration on the Pak Hajj Mobile App / Hajj Portal is mandatory for both government and private pilgrims in this phase.
  • Your Pakistani passport must remain valid until at least November 16, 2027.
  • Pakistanis holding a POC (Pakistan Origin Card) and living abroad may also be eligible to perform Hajj from Pakistan, provided they’re travelling alongside a close relative who holds a Pakistani passport.

Seat Quotas for 2027

Seats are limited and split between the two package types:

  • Short Hajj Package: 30,000 seats
  • Long Hajj Package: 77,526 seats

Once either quota is filled, the Ministry will immediately stop accepting dues for that package, regardless of the announced deadline. This is exactly why applying early matters more than the calendar date itself.
