Punjab Special Education Survey
The Punjab Special Education Department has rolled out a province-wide initiative aimed at locating special needs children and connecting them with appropriate educational institutions. Under this campaign, teams will visit homes directly to ensure that no eligible child is left without access to education.
How the Survey Will Be Conducted
Heads of special education institutions across the province have been given clear directives to identify special needs children residing within their respective areas. Field staff will visit households to gather relevant information and determine which children qualify for admission into special education schools.
Both teaching and non-teaching staff members have been assigned roles in this drive. Allowing a wider area to be covered within a limited timeframe.

A Five-Day Deadline
The department has set a tight five-day window for completing the entire survey process. Within this period, staff are required to collect not only the children’s basic details but also geo-tagged photographs. Which will help verify locations and support any necessary follow-up later on.

The Purpose Behind the Initiative
At the heart of this survey lies a simple goal: building a complete and verified database of special needs children throughout Punjab. Using this data, the department plans to formally enroll all eligible children into special education institutions, giving them access to the educational support they deserve.
Officials believe this step will not only boost admission rates. But also help reach children who, for various reasons, have remained outside the formal education system until now.
