The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), an important body of the Government of Pakistan responsible for regulating the country’s oil and gas sector, has announced fresh openings for Trainee Executive positions. This is a great opportunity for young, qualified candidates who are looking to start a stable and respectable career in the public sector.

Available Positions
OGRA has announced a total of 16 vacancies across the following three categories:
- Trainee Executive (Technical) – 10 Posts
- Trainee Executive (Legal) – 02 Posts
- Trainee Executive (Finance) – 04 Posts
All positions will be filled at grade E-1.

Eligibility Criteria
Technical Category
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical) is required. If the degree was obtained from a foreign institution, it must be recognized and declared equivalent by HEC and PEC.
Legal Category
Candidates must hold a Bar-at-Law, LLM, LLB, or LLB (Honours) degree from a recognized university in Pakistan or abroad.
Finance Category
Candidates must have completed CA (Inter), ICMA (Inter), MBA-Finance, or BBA-Finance (Honours, 16 years of education) from a recognized institution.
Important Note: All three positions are meant for fresh graduates; however, candidates with 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience may be given preference.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for all positions is 30 years.
Provincial Quota Breakdown
The recruitment process will follow the government’s provincial quota policy as follows:
Technical Position
- Merit: 3 seats
- Punjab: 2 seats
- Sindh: 3 seats
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa/Ex-FATA: 1 seat
- Balochistan: 1 seat
Legal Position
- Merit: 1 seat
- Sindh: 1 seat
Finance Position
- Merit: 2 seats
- Punjab: 1 seat
- Sindh: 1 seat

Nature of Employment and Benefits
Selected candidates will initially be hired on a one-year contract with a fixed monthly salary. Based on satisfactory performance, the contract may be extended for a second year, and the organization may, at its discretion, prioritize regular/permanent appointment for the best-performing employees when suitable vacancies arise.
Please note that only the most suitable candidates will be shortlisted for the written test/interview, and no TA/DA (travel or accommodation allowance) will be admissible for appearing in the test or interview.

Application Deadline
Complete applications, along with all required documents, must reach the OGRA Head Office by September 4, 2026. Applications received after this date or found incomplete will not be considered.

Instructions for Government Employees
Candidates already employed in government, semi-government, autonomous, or semi-autonomous organizations must apply through the proper channel. If selected, they will be required to resign from their current position before joining OGRA.
