Post Offices Set to Begin

Pakistan Post has planned the digitisation of 2800 post offices, set to begin to provide postal customers with modern-day postal services. Under this project, automation on the South Korean model has been announced in collaboration with Exim Bank.

Pakistan Post Project Director for Automation, Athar Masood, has told APP that under this project, a contract will be signed with the South Korean firm Moon Engineering. In this agreement, Pakistan Used will use the Pashura Affairs and Service Delivery System along the modern lines of Post Offices.

For the project, the Korea Atomic Bank has laid down very simple conditions under which support must be provided. In this regard, it has announced to provide a loan of 20.6 million dollars to Pakistan at 10 per cent interest.

Along with profit, this loan will be provided for 40 years. Pakistan Post will repay this loan on a half-yearly basis. Under this project, all services were modernised through Software Korea, and Pakistan started providing services to its customers under the automation system from post offices across the country.

Under this project, Athar Masood further said that this project will be completed in 26 months. With all these terms, the agreement has been settled, and a simple and solemn ceremony was held yesterday in which all the parties agreed and formally signed.

On behalf of the government, Pakistan Post has prepared a plan for the digitisation of 2800 post offices across the country, and this has benefited Pakistan Post Offices since its inception.

$20.6 Million in Debt

Pakistan Post has planned the digitisation of 2800 post offices to provide advanced services to postal users in line with modern requirements. Under this project, Exim Bank of Korea has provided very favourable terms for the project. In this regard, Pakistan will be provided a loan for 40 years at 10% interest. It has been decided to provide a loan of 20.6 million dollars for this loan, which Pakistan will repay on a semi-annual basis.

 Further, several steps have been taken under this project, ie, all services will be modernized in Korea. Pakistan Post has decided to provide services to its customers from post offices across the country under an automation system. And the digitalisation of many post offices has started. Around 2800, the Post Office Digitisation Project was initiated.

Cooperation on very easy terms

The digitisation of post offices was started by the government. Cooperation has been done on very easy terms. In this regard, Korea will provide loans to Pakistan with a 10% hypocrisy. Pakistan Post’s Project Director for Auto Mission told Neem APP that under this project. Post has agreed with the South Korean firm Moon Engineering. Post offices have been digitised to further improve the system. Pakistan Post has announced the digitisation of 28 post offices across the country, and it has also started.
