Chief Minister Punjab Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that a Physical Disability Is No Longer A Constraint, Punjab Himmat Card. He has started the Punjab Himat Card to provide relief to the poor. Through this card, various facilities will be provided to disabled people to lead a better life.

Those individuals who can do their own business despite their disability will be provided with interest-free loans on easy terms so that they can start their small businesses. Individuals will also be able to get loans for expanding their small businesses.

Interest-free loan 

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that easy loans will be provided to disabled people through the Easypaisa Card. From this, they will start their own better business to lead a prosperous life. Those with disabled people running their businesses will be provided with loans for business expansion.

These loans will be provided to them without interest on easy terms. The loan repayment period will be kept as long as possible so that they do not have to face financial difficulties in repaying the loan.

6000 Quarterly Stipend 

The government of Pakistan has also fixed quarterly scholarships for disabled people across the country. 6 A rupee quarterly stipend is provided to disabled persons through Himmat ka Rud. Under this, they get help in meeting their basic needs. By getting these scholarships, disabled people can get the means to live an empowered life. They do not have to resort to any inappropriate activity to fulfil their needs. 

The main purpose of providing scholarships was that special people do not have to depend on others for their needs. The lives of these people should not be a burden for anyone; they can take responsibility for themselves and their families.

Many people lose their limbs due to various accidents in life. or persons who are congenitally disabled. The government of Pakistan has started various programs to improve the lives of these people. The Punjab government has announced the provision of free wheelchairs for the disabled. Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, said that people who depend on others due to disability cannot carry their burden. 

They have to rely on others to fulfill their needs. Aid money will be provided to empower these people, and wheelchairs will also be provided to them.

3% Quota In Govt And Semi-Govt Jobs

Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that disabled people can do their own business or job despite their disability. These people will be provided with facilities according to their demands. Easy loans of one to two lakhs will be given to disabled people who want to start their businesses.

A three percent quota of government jobs has been allocated for them, by which they will improve their standard of living and provide better support for themselves and their families. Disabled people will be helped in the field of life in which they are skilled, by using these skills.

Ms. Maryam Nawaz said that the Punjab Himmat Card will bring many positive changes in the lives of disabled people. Those working people who will make their Himat Card will benefit from all the facilities provided by the Government of Pakistan. Disabled persons with Himmat cards will get special discounts on public transport.

Punjab Himmat Card Program – Latest Updates (2026)

The Punjab government has significantly expanded the Himmat Card program under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The quarterly stipend has been increased from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 10,500, bringing the annual total to Rs. 42,000 per beneficiary

The program has rolled out in phases. Phase I covered around 40,000 beneficiaries, and Phase II, launched in August 2026, added 25,000 more PWDs, bringing total coverage to approximately 65,000 beneficiaries. Coverage has since expanded further, with the program moving into Phase 3 and reaching over 100,000 beneficiaries for quarterly cash transfers along with a full social protection package.

The card operates on an ATM-based system. Beneficiaries can withdraw their quarterly payment from any Bank of Punjab ATM or branch, and receive SMS notifications for each transfer. Withdrawals require biometric verification at Bank of Punjab.

Eligibility is now more clearly defined

applicants must be certified persons with disabilities with a PMT score of 45 or below, and must not be receiving assistance from any other welfare scheme. Registration is done through the PWD App, using CNIC-based registration, document upload, and verification.

A dedicated quota has also been introduced, with 30% of the total slots reserved for women beneficiaries.

In addition to financial aid, the government has launched a Digital Skills Program offering free laptops and IT training to beneficiaries.

The scheme is implemented by the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) in partnership with the Bank of Punjab (BOP).
