Door-step Wheelchairs For The Disabled Through Himmat Card

Door-step Wheelchairs For The Disabled

The Government of Punjab delivers assistive devices, including wheelchairs, to the homes of eligible persons with disabilities through the Himmat Card wheelchair programme. However, many people with disabilities cannot afford a wheelchair. Therefore, this door-step delivery restores mobility, dignity, and independence. It also removes the need for families to travel to an office to collect a device.

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced the Himmat Card for persons with disabilities who cannot work because of their disability. Verified cardholders receive a quarterly stipend of Rs. 10,500. In addition, eligible persons can receive assistive devices, including wheelchairs, at their homes.

The Government of Punjab provides wheelchairs through its own provincial scheme, not through a general federal scheme. The Social Welfare Department identifies eligible persons with disabilities. So, applicants should use official Social Welfare channels and avoid agents who charge fees.

Provision Of Free Wheelchairs

The Social Welfare Department launched the assistive-devices phase in November 2025. In this phase, the department arranges Himmat Card wheelchair home delivery for verified beneficiaries. The Himmat Card stipend is quarterly, not monthly. For example, the Social Welfare Department, Government of Punjab, confirms the amount as Rs. 10,500.

The assistive-devices phase aims to distribute 100,000 assistive devices to eligible persons with disabilities. In addition, the plan includes wheelchairs for home delivery.

Who Qualifies for the Himmat Card

The Government of Punjab provides free wheelchairs and other assistive devices to eligible persons with disabilities. The Social Welfare Department sets the eligibility rules. Fourth, the applicant must not have received a recent grant from Bait-ul-Maal, the Zakat Fund, PSPA, BISP, or a similar source. Finally, the applicant needs a BISP PMT score of 45 or less, plus updated CNIC, address, mobile number, education, and experience details in DPMIS.

How to Apply for the Himmat Card

First, applicants obtain disability certification from the Social Welfare Department. Then, they update their CNIC, address, mobile number, education, and experience details in DPMIS. Next, the department issues the Himmat Card to eligible persons. The card covers the quarterly stipend and assistive-device delivery. There is no verified standalone online form for wheelchairs. Therefore, use only the Social Welfare Department’s official channels, and do not pay any agent.
