Wheelchairs For Disabled Persons In Model Bazars
On 19 July 2024, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the Model Bazaar Free Home Delivery Project in Township, Lahore. Under this project, shoppers can order goods from 36 model markets across Punjab. They get free home delivery through the official app or by phone. The bazaars also reserve special facilities for disabled shoppers. These include free wheelchairs, seating areas, and specially designed public toilets. All items sell below DC-notified rates. Disabled people can shop without any problems at these model markets. The markets provide free wheelchairs for disabled shoppers. In addition, all shoppers buy goods at discounted rates. Upgradation Of Model Bazars
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz addressed the inauguration ceremony of the upgraded model bazaars. She announced that model bazaars will open in all districts of Punjab. Under the 100 Sahulat Bazaars programme, the government has allocated Rs 10 billion in the Annual Development Plan 2025–26. In March 2025, a Punjab Assembly Act renamed the Punjab Model Bazaars Management Company as the Punjab Sahulat Bazaars Authority (PSBA). In 2024, the government disbursed Rs 3.44 billion for 13 new bazaars. As a result, all 100 bazaars should become fully functional well before Ramazan. Meanwhile, workers are upgrading the 36 existing bazaars.
Separately, a Punjab-wide environmental rule now applies at shops including model bazaars: the Environmental Protection Agency has barred shops from charging for plastic bags from 6 September 2026. Report violations on the EPA helpline 1373; fines range from Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000.

Solarization Of Model Bazars
In the same address, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced free solar plates for consumers using up to 200 units of electricity per month. In addition, consumers using 200 to 500 units per month can get solar panels on easy installments. She said the bazaars are moving to a Green Punjab Solar Model to cut electricity costs.
She added that full solarization of operational bazaars is part of the 100 Sahulat Bazaars plan. Furthermore, she assured that the government will establish new bazaars in areas that lack this facility.
