Punjab Launches 1,500 Agriculture Graduates Internship Scheme Under CM Maryam Nawaz's Reform Program

Punjab Agriculture Graduates Internship Scheme

The Punjab government has announced a new internship initiative as part of its agricultural reform agenda to put Punjab on the path of development, which aims to engage young agriculture graduates of Punjab in the sector. The scheme, branded under the slogan Maryam Nawaz’s dream: Punjab is changing, will provide a monthly stipend of Rs 70,000 to selected interns.

Objective of the scheme

The program aims to expand and strengthen the agriculture sector in the province, as well as create meaningful opportunities for fresh graduates.

By placing young, qualified individuals in district-level agriculture offices, the initiative hopes to bridge the gap between academic training and practical fieldwork, while supporting farmers with cutting-edge knowledge and technical support.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Agriculture is a must.
  • Applicants should not be more than 27 years of age as on the date of final submission.
  • Candidates should have a valid domicile of the district under which they are applying.

District-wise quota distribution

A specific number of internships has been allocated for each district across Punjab under this scheme, ensuring representation from across the province. Districts with large agricultural bases like Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, and Muzaffargarh have been allotted more quota, while smaller districts have proportionately fewer slots. The complete breakdown covers dozens of districts, ranging from 16 seats in the highest quota district to 93 smaller seats.
