Punjab Livestock Card For Best Meat Production
The Punjab Government has issued a Punjab Livestock Card for Best Meat Production. This is a historic initiative of the Punjab government, under which interest-free loans from Rs 135,000 to Rs 270,000 are provided to the livestock farmers of Punjab for animal fodder, wanda, silage, and mineral mixture. Ms. Maryam Nawaz said that the government would pay the markup so that farmers get these loans at zero interest. October 2026 Update
On 14 October 2026, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched a new phase/expansion of the Punjab Livestock Card programme, according to press reports. As reported by outlets including Dunya News, Bol News, ARY, Samaa, Express Tribune, Minute Mirror and 24 News, the expansion includes Rs16.2 billion in interest-free loans for farmers, Rs27,000 per animal for feed (wanda/silage), a facility for farmers to withdraw 25% of the loan in cash via ATM, and a reported 96% loan repayment rate from the first phase. - MoUs signed with 8 major exporters; via PAMCO, meat exports to China, Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and European markets.
- Women livestock farmers registered rose from 90 to 1,107; animal exports from Punjab up 43%; meat exports up $96m in one year.
- 23,312 livestock cards prepared; 1,739 farmers carried out 70,000+ transactions.
- Feed spend so far: Rs20m on mineral mixtures, Rs87m on silage and Rs892.6m on wanda.

Features of the Punjab Livestock Card
Punjab Livestock Card has the best features. Many facilities have been provided to dairy farmers through this. About four lakh animals will be provided for meat export across the province through the Punjab Livestock Card. Facilities for free tagging of animals will also be provided to the farmers.
