CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme 2026
The CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme is now in its installation phase in 2026. The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is providing 100,000 free solar systems to low-income households that use 0–200 electricity units per month. Moreover, selection is done through transparent computerized balloting, not on a first-come basis.
Registration for the scheme has closed on the official solar scheme portal. If you applied, check your balloting result with your CNIC or electricity bill reference number. Then, selected households complete physical verification through the DISCO before teams install the free solar system at their home. You can also send your CNIC and bill reference number by SMS to 8800 for updates.

Scheme Eligibility and Target Households
Only domestic electricity consumers in Punjab with a monthly usage of 0–200 units are eligible. The scheme targets poor households struggling with rising electricity bills. Applicants needed a valid CNIC and an electricity bill reference number to register for the balloting.
Each selected household receives a complete standalone solar system free of cost — there are no installments or hidden charges. The government is installing the systems phase by phase after balloting and physical verification.

Balloting and Installation Progress
The scheme will install 100,000 solar systems at a cost of about Rs. 10 billion. After computerized balloting, the Bank of Punjab and local administration verify the selected households, and then installation teams set up the free solar system.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved this project to facilitate poor households. Consumers using up to 200 units per month were eligible to apply, and winners are chosen purely through transparent balloting.

From Pilot Phase to Province-Wide Rollout
The scheme started with a pilot phase, but it has now expanded into a province-wide program. Instead of limiting free solar systems to a few districts, the government selects 100,000 households from across Punjab through computerized balloting.
The solar systems are completely free — beneficiaries pay nothing, not even in installments. After balloting and verification, the installation is done at the winner’s home at no charge. The government has extended the scheme timeline into December 2026 to complete all installations.
The CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme is now in its installation phase in 2026. This initiative brings clean, sustainable, and affordable energy to low-income households across Punjab and reduces their dependence on costly grid electricity.
