Digital Qist via BISP SIM Cards: Sindh Progress, Official Dates, and Key Instructions

Digital Qist via BISP SIM Cards

The BISP Free SIM Cards initiative has started across Sindh to improve how Kafalat Qist is delivered to women. This step aims to replace cash payments with a secure digital system. Many women were confused due to delays, so the government clarified the process during an official visit to the Karachi BISP office.

The new system allows Qist to be sent directly into a SIM-based digital wallet. This reduces long waits and removes the role of agents. It also helps women receive payments with respect and privacy while improving trust in BISP services.

  • Cash handling issues have been addressed
  • Better tracking of payments
  • More control for women

Why Digital Wallet SIMs Are Important for Women

Most women beneficiaries do not have bank accounts. However, mobile phone access is common. SIM-based wallets bridge this gap and support financial inclusion without forcing women into complex banking steps.

The system also protects women from deductions and fraud. Payments go directly to their registered SIM. This change supports dignity and transparency, which were missing in earlier models.

  • No need for bank visits
  • Reduced fraud complaints
  • Easier access in rural areas

Current Qist Status and Poverty Score Link

Some women have received Qist under the old system. Others are waiting due to data updates or SIM issuance. This delay does not mean removal from the program. Women should stay patient during the transition phase.

Future Qist will remain linked to the poverty score. Accurate household data is important. Only families within the approved score range will continue receiving support.
